Sangría – My Cup of Tea

Sangría

DSC_5021Ok, ok, ok. I know that Sangria is not a Mexican drink but it’s festive and fresh, and I  wanted to post the recipe for all of you that want to have an easy, fruity drink for your 5 de Mayo gather.

What you need:

1 bottle of red wine (not your cheapest, not your best)

1 large bottle of sparkling water

1 cup of orange juice (or more depending on how sweet you want it)

1 cup of cantaloupe, diced into small cubes

1 cup of watermelon, diced into small cubes

1 cup of pineapple, diced into small cubes

You can use almost any fruit: I’ve used peaches and plums, strawberries, apples, pears…

How to make it:

In a large pitcher combine the wine, sparkling water, and juice. Add the fruits and let it rest in the fridge for a little while before serving. Note: Put some teaspoons next to it so people can scoop the fruit from their glasses.
